Environmental Research Fields


Biohabitat is an interdisciplinary research and architecture initiative exploring regenerative futures for the built environment.
Through research, education, consultancy and design, it investigates how ecological transition,
biodiversity and material innovation can contribute to more resilient and regenerative environments.


This integrated approach enables the transfer of knowledge between research,
design and implementation, generating practical solutions for the ecological transformation of the built environment.

Biohabitat develops two complementary research agendas.

The first focuses on biodiversity, more-than-human environments and socioecological systems,
exploring the relationships between human and non-human communities through architecture,
environmental humanities and ecological transition.

The second focuses on biomaterials, circularity and zero-carbon technologies,
investigating regenerative construction, material innovation and low-carbon approaches to the built environment.
